BEBAWINIGI
ist eine italienische Experimental-Sängerin, Schauspielerin, Musikkomponistin und Multi-Instrumentalistin, die von der Presse als eine der weltweit besten Künstlerinnen des zeitgenössischen Experimentalszene angesehen wird.

BEBAWINIGI ist ein musikalisches und performatives Projekt, das von Virginia Quaranta geschaffen wurde. Sie experimentiert mit einer Vielzahl von Genres, um etwas Neues zu schaffen; sie experimentiert mit Instrumenten, aber auch mit allen Gegenständen, die einen interessanten Klang erzeugen könnten; vor allem experimentiert sie mit ihrer Stimme und ihrer Theatralik durch eine breite Palette verschiedener Klangfarben, Stimmlagen und Farben; und schließlich experimentiert sie mit der verbalen Sprache, wobei sie oft ihre eigene persönliche „grammelot“ (eine erfundene Sprache) dem Italienischen oder Englischen vorzieht.
Der Künstlerin zufolge steht der Name Bebawinigi für das grazile, groteske, beunruhigende und unerbittlich unvollkommene Wesen, das in jedem von uns steckt und das wir loszuwerden versuchen, wenn wir erwachsen werden, das aber immer ein Teil von uns sein wird.

Die Künstlerin tritt live in nationalen und internationalen Avantgarde-Musikzentren auf.
Ihre Show ist sehr theatralisch und immersiv, sie besteht aus vokalen und perkussiven Improvisationen auf Industrieblechen, Overdubs von verzerrten Cellos und verrückten Synthesizern, wobei gewalttätige und aggressive Momente mit atmosphärischen und feierlichen oder lustigen und verspielten Momenten abwechseln.

Der Multiinstrumentalist und Komponist William Rossi aus dem norditalienischen Lomazzo ist in unterschiedlichsten Genres aktiv – von Rock über Power Electronics bis Ambient. Ähnlich vielfältig sind die Arbeitsgebiete des Augsburger Kunstförderpreisträgers Gerald Fiebig, der sich als Songtexter und Sänger ebenso betätigt wie im Bereich Klanginstallation und elektroakustische Musik. Dank der guten Online-Vernetzung des internationalen DIY-Experimentalmusik-Undergrounds fanden sich die beiden während der Corona-Pandemie und produzierten zwei Alben, die Ambient, Drone, Noise und industrial-angehauchten Electropop verbinden. In der Kresslesmühle tritt das deutsch-italienische Duo Gerald Fiebig & William Rossi nun zum allerersten Mal live auf. Als Brückenschlag von Augsburg nach Italien der perfekte Opener für den italienischen Haupt-Act des Abends!

Born at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic as a means to express and exorcise the loneliness and uncertainty it brought and the yearning to communicate we responded with, this collaboration quickly started to focus on the concepts of language and communication themselves. A universal constant for humans and the rest of the animal kingdom alike, communication is the door into getting to know the world that surrounds us; physical touch is communication, glances are communication, art is communication, language is communication.
A testament to humans‘ determination in connecting with each other, even in places where different cultures and tongues meet, both Sabir and Pidgin are languages that developed organically in order to bridge the gaps and understand one another.
Languages express the deepest affection, the harshest of condemnations, seething hatred and utmost fragility; an endless kaleidoscope of emotion the music on this record has tried to capture, mimic and convey-

This is an album born out of anger. Anger at the worldwide rise of fascism, from Italy and Sweden to Hungary, India and the Republican party of the United States. Anger at the end-of-history liberal political class that, under the idea of „it can’t happen here“ and the guise of so-called civility allowed a fascist cancer to fester and grow unchecked. Georg Elser is turning in his grave at the prospect that fascists might be proudly and unapologetically expressing their barbaric and inhumane ideals in the open. But, inspired by Georg Elser and many others like him, we will never allow fascists to feel safe in our spaces and our society.
